What’s the difference between a wedding planner and coordinator?
You just got engaged, and now it’s time to find a wedding planner.
Or coordinator.
Because they are the same, right? Nope!
We get this question quite often. Truth is, the role of a wedding planner is different from a coordinator. Let’s break it down:
DIY kinda bride? A coordinator may be the perfect option for you. This person is like the stage director to a play—they make sure everything goes as smooth as possible on the big day.
You’ll meet with the coordinator a couple of months or a few weeks before the wedding to review details like the schedule for the day, the vendor list, and venue setup. They will then take your amazing research to execute your dreamy affair.
Short on time or don’t know where to start? A wedding planner is like your bff. They come with a wealth of industry knowledge and make the best recommendations and make your vision come to life. They work with you from day 1, meet with you often, seek out vendors, reserve hotels and plan tastings (just to name a few). They keep up with your budget and ease any anxiety or uncertainty you may have.
On wedding day, the planner brings in a team to ensure the day runs as planned, on time and flawlessly executed.
